Wild Flower Minis

I know it seems like we never had a winter, well aside from a few days with some rain, but in just a couple of weeks it will be the first day of Spring.   I’ve decided to do a few mini sessions in a place where I haven’t photographed before, but I’ve seen photographs from others during the spring, and it is alive with yellow mustard blooms!  This is in an open space which was not open to the public before I moved to Iowa, and I have only recently heard about it.  I went down to take photos, and the flowers were just starting to poke through the ground.  I can imagine in a few weeks, it will be filled with flowers!

Start thinking about Mother’s Day, and you’ll love this!  First we will have a 30 minute portrait creation session.  Then, within a week, you’ll be presented with a digital online gallery with 15-20 professionally and artistically edited images.   You’ll also receive 3 Mini-Accordion Albums ($100 value), one for you, one for your mother and his mother.  You’ll receive a Digital Gallery App that you can install on your smartphone to view your images any time, and you can share your app with friends and family.  I have tested these with some of my clients and they love them!  In addition, you’ll receive credit toward one of my 5 Framed Wall Collections.  These are a collection of photos, framed and ready to hang on the wall.  They range from $575 to $685.  Most of you know that I  normally include  low resolution images for sharing electronically, and only offer digital images above certain price points,  but I decided to include them in this exclusive offer.  You’ll receive the entire gallery by digital download.   You will then also have the ability to order additional, high quality, sprayed and textured prints through me at 30% off of list price.

Package #1 is $375

Don’t need the Wall Collection?

You can get the 30 minute session, the Digital Gallery App, the Digital Download, the 3 Mini-Accordion Albums,  and 25% off of prints.

Mia is One | Orange County Kids Photographer

I can’t believe it has been over a year since I first photographed little Mia.  Typically, cake smash sessions are booked before the first birthday, so that photos may be used for birthday cards, and/or a signature board at baby’s first birthday.  But Mia had moved away since I first started photographing her, and she was back for a visit when we had the session.  She was 14 months old when we did her Cake Smash session.  This worked well because we were able to get some great shots of her standing and walking, and showing off her little legs.  She loved the balloons!  She did not love the cake!  🙂

That was fun, Mom! | Orange County Kids Photographer

photo-bomb siblingsI’ve been photographing kids for Valentine’s Day for the past several years, but this year’s mini took on a new twist.  My kids had fun!   I usually do have fun with the kids I photograph, but MY kids get the camera in their faces all of the time.  It is not as much fun for them, as it is almost a job.   This year, even though I had assigned photo times, we ended up throwing them out the window and letting the kids interact with each other.   They all know each other, and are friends.  Not only did we end up with some great individual shots for Classroom Cards, but we had some great BFF shots and sibling shots.  I turned on the music and let the kids be the DJ.  They had a blast!  My favorite time was when I was starting to photograph one of my daughters.  She was still not quite into getting her photo taken.  The other sister, who was totally into it, jumped in with some epic photobomb maneuvers.  I’ve attached some of the fun captures from that moment.  The best payment I had for this day was at the end of the day, after everyone had gone, and my daughter said, “That was fun, Mom!”

Happy New Year 2014 | Orange County Portrait Photographer

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:51+00:00 December 30th, 2013|Families, Kids, Portraits|2 Comments

It’s that time again, when we reflect on the past year, and make resolutions for change in the New Year.  Is anyone really good at keeping resolutions?  So far, I have not been that great at it.  Why is it we decide to make changes and be better at things starting on January 1st?  Because it’s a symbol of rebirth, a new beginning, a chance to wipe the slate clean and start anew.  Reflecting back on the past year, it is clear that one thing I have not been good about is keeping this website updated, with fresh content.  I’m sure that makes it seem like I have put my camera in storage and stopped photographing all together.  That would not be further from the truth!  The truth is that at some point this year, I photographed my 500th newborn baby.   Almost all of those babies were photographed as a freelance photographer for Bella Baby Photography, and because of concerns over privacy and HIPPA violations, I’m not able to share them with you.  However, I am also still taking clients of my own, and have had the honor and privilege of photographing some gorgeous, amazing people this past year.   This past August, as I had been planning out my availability for the Holiday Family Portrait Season, I injured my foot.  It was so bad that I required surgery and had to remain non-weight bearing for almost three months.  It was more difficult than I could have ever imagined.  I was not only not able to photograph babies, but I could not even photograph my own family.  The first day of school?  I was tottering on a knee scooter trying to get photos of my kids without falling down, which I had done only days before.     I was able to start bearing weight again toward the end of October, and have been in Physical Therapy since then.  My foot is getting stronger, and I’m feeling better about it every day.  I did manage to sneak in a handful of sessions, including some of my own kids.   Now that most Holiday Cards have been sent, I wanted to share a few of the sessions I managed to squeeze in.   My New Years Cards are still waiting to go out, but I’ll give you a preview of them here too.
