Triplet Boys

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:53+00:00 April 29th, 2010|Kids|0 Comments

Finally done editing the Flying Triplets.  It was so fun editing these photos, because the boys had started out really not wanting to get their photos taken.   But I really encouraged them to do things like make faces, and act silly, and before they realized it, they were all laughing.   Through the editing process, you can really see the progression from difficult to follow directions to having a blast and fun to play with!  I hope their mom will let them keep some of the silly face photos!

Special “K” babies

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:53+00:00 April 26th, 2010|Babies|3 Comments

These baby girl twins stole my heart right away.  They are both so beautiful, with big, bright eyes and beautiful smiles.  They are at the super fun stage of cruising the furniture.  They were constantly on the move, crawling, pulling up, trying to walk.  It was so funny how one would do something, and the other would immediately try to do it too – like pulling up on mama’s legs and reaching for her hands in order to try to walk.  I love this stage of development.  I loved playing with these little girls, and I look forward to playing some more!

Shirley and her kids

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:53+00:00 April 26th, 2010|Families, Portraits|0 Comments

Capturing images of these four generations was truly one of the most fun I’ve had capturing grown ups.  They were all together for the first time since some of the little ones had arrived.  They were all so excited, and their energy was contagious.  Shirley is simply lovely, and I can’t even express the honor I felt being in her presence.   Feeling the obvious love and joy that was present that day, I can’t help but think that Shirley did an incredible job being a mother.  Those of us moms know how hard a job it is.  We all feel like failures so much of the time.  But if I am lucky enough to be with three generations of my children, and to have what they had that day, then I may feel like I did an OK job after all.  I can only hope.

Beautiful or Creepy?

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:53+00:00 April 21st, 2010|Babies, Bellies|2 Comments

The first time I’d seen this done, an example of it was brought to me by my seven year old daughter.  It was inspired by photographer, Jennifer George, whose fine art portraiture takes my breath away.  My daughter had found her book, The Art of Pregnancy Photography, while we were browsing through the local bookstore.  My daughter and I both thought the technique was absolutely beautiful, and I was eager to try it out.   Being a mom, and loving the ultrasound images I have of my own babies, this image of the baby seemingly in utero (albeit, in the breach position instead of vertex), just elicited the same feeling of awe that 4-D ultrasound images did.  However, a few of my friends have thought it was kind of creepy.

This is my first attempt, and I’m pretty pleased with the results.  So is my daughter.  She told me this is one of her favorite photos I’ve done.    It doesn’t hurt that the model is gorgeous, who I have featured here before, as well as her adorable, newborn baby boy.  I will be posting more images of him soon, but I needed to get this one done for a school assignment, so I had to bump it up a bit in my editing queue.    Anyway, I would love to get some feedback on whether you think this is Beautiful or Creepy?

Black “I” peas in a pod

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:54+00:00 April 19th, 2010|Babies, Portraits|0 Comments

Oh what a fun little set of twin babies these were.  I met with them one afternoon at the park .
They are 6 months old and just getting comfortable sitting on their own.  We used some little black buckets for them to sit in, and they were perfectly content.    When we wanted to try some other poses, little boy, “I” decided he didn’t really want to participate any more, so we tried with little girl “I” and she was happy to pose.  They both loved their big brother “D” so much, they were constantly trying to see where he was.   I also loved how little boy “I” was reaching over and grabbing his sister’s hand.  SO sweet!
