Beautiful or Creepy?

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:53+00:00 April 21st, 2010|Babies, Bellies|2 Comments

The first time I’d seen this done, an example of it was brought to me by my seven year old daughter.  It was inspired by photographer, Jennifer George, whose fine art portraiture takes my breath away.  My daughter had found her book, The Art of Pregnancy Photography, while we were browsing through the local bookstore.  My daughter and I both thought the technique was absolutely beautiful, and I was eager to try it out.   Being a mom, and loving the ultrasound images I have of my own babies, this image of the baby seemingly in utero (albeit, in the breach position instead of vertex), just elicited the same feeling of awe that 4-D ultrasound images did.  However, a few of my friends have thought it was kind of creepy.

This is my first attempt, and I’m pretty pleased with the results.  So is my daughter.  She told me this is one of her favorite photos I’ve done.    It doesn’t hurt that the model is gorgeous, who I have featured here before, as well as her adorable, newborn baby boy.  I will be posting more images of him soon, but I needed to get this one done for a school assignment, so I had to bump it up a bit in my editing queue.    Anyway, I would love to get some feedback on whether you think this is Beautiful or Creepy?

Black “I” peas in a pod

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:54+00:00 April 19th, 2010|Babies, Portraits|0 Comments

Oh what a fun little set of twin babies these were.  I met with them one afternoon at the park .
They are 6 months old and just getting comfortable sitting on their own.  We used some little black buckets for them to sit in, and they were perfectly content.    When we wanted to try some other poses, little boy, “I” decided he didn’t really want to participate any more, so we tried with little girl “I” and she was happy to pose.  They both loved their big brother “D” so much, they were constantly trying to see where he was.   I also loved how little boy “I” was reaching over and grabbing his sister’s hand.  SO sweet!

Flying triplets

I just have to share a favorite photo from one of the sessions I had today.  These three boys were a riot.  They’ve recently received their black belts in Tae Kwon Do, and mom is SO proud of them.   I still have tons of photos to cull through, but this one was a fave as soon as I captured it, so I had to bring it home to share with everyone! I will post more when I get through them.

The four Cs and bunnies

By | 2017-02-09T16:33:54+00:00 April 12th, 2010|Kids|3 Comments

Wow am I blessed!  This little set of triplets+ one were absolutely adorable.  Of course they take after their mother, Kathy!  Big Sister Savannah, 3,  is quite into posing and having her picture taken, and I had to try to convince her not to say, “cheese.”    The three little ones, Ashtyn,  Sienna and McKenna, 2,  were not so into it.   After all, what two year old wants to sit still?   This is why I prefer to play with the kids, sing silly songs, dance, and just try to capture images of them having fun.  Most of the time, that will work, sometimes it doesn’t.  Little Miss McKenna just would not have anything to do with it.    Hopefully as I get to know her, she’ll warm up to me and want to play.  (First names used with Mom’s permission.)

Little beauties, Miss S and Miss T

By | 2010-12-21T13:59:00+00:00 April 10th, 2010|Kids|0 Comments

These two little beauties were absolutely charming.  They danced, they played, they blew bubbles, and they were smiling the entire time.  OK, well they weren’t smiling when they were puckering their lips to blow the bubbles, but other than that, they were smiling.  They were so care-free, so innocent, and just beautiful.   I really enjoyed the time I spent with them.  Thank you, little ladies.  I hope we can dance and play again sometime!
