When should I plan to have pregnancy portraits taken?
Dec. 13, 2010
You want to schedule your session for a time when you really "look" pregnant, but are not bloated and miserable. I prefer to do pregnancy portraits between 32 and 36 weeks. It really depends on how long your torso is and how many babies you're carrying. If you have a short torso, are carrying multiples, or have been pregnant before, your tummy will "pop" earlier in your pregnancy. If you have a long torso and you are only carrying one baby, you may not truly "look" pregnant until later in your pregnancy. Use the above guideline, and schedule your session as soon as you know you're pregnant. Most women become bloated in the last month, so you should avoid that time.
When should I schedule my newborn session?
Dec. 13, 2010
Newborn sessions are best done when the baby is a week old, and no more than 2 weeks old. As soon as you know your due date, or at your pregnancy portrait session, please schedule your newborn session for a week after your due date. This will become be a "soft" date. I will keep my schedule flexible for the weeks around your due date. Please call me before you are discharged from the hospital to confirm a "firm" date for one week from the date of birth. Also, please keep me posted if you go into labor early, or if you go past your due date so I can be sure to keep my schedule flexible.
