Yes, that’s right.  We are moving again.  Just a recap for those of you who have been following.  We moved from Orange County, California to West Des Moines, IA in July, 2010.  Then we moved to Clive, IA in September 2010.  Now we are moving again, to Gainesville, Florida!

No, the reason is NOT because I don’t like the snow and the cold.  The truth is that I have been LOVING the snow and the cold.  The reason is that my husband has been offered another position in Gainesville, and it is a really great opportunity for him.  We will be doing the same thing we did last time – hubby moves first, the kids and I follow once school is out.

I will continue to take sessions until the end of April, so if you’ve been thinking about getting a standard session in, please contact me ASAP to get it booked.  I will also be opening up some Spring Mini-Sessions soon, so stay tuned for those.

And if anyone knows of a family that will be looking to rent/lease a 4 bedroom home in the Des Moines area (Clive), an excellent neighborhood near excellent schools (Waukee School District), available starting this summer, please send them my way!

Bella Mama Portrait Sessions with free newborn session | Des Moines Maternity Photographer

I loved being pregnant. I know that many women really hate being pregnant, but I was not one of them. I enjoyed the feeling of my belly, with the baby moving around inside. I had pregnancy portraits taken when I was 32 weeks pregnant with my twins. I remember, however, at the time the photos were taken, I felt fat and my hair had not been colored in eons, so you could really see my roots. At that moment, walking into her studio, I felt less than beautiful. I was about to be put on full time bedrest though, and knew that I needed to get those images captured or I would miss my opportunity.

My photographer was an associate to my wedding photographer, and was actually fairly new to maternity photography. However, she made me feel beautiful, and relaxed that I would not appear as fat as I felt. Back then, film was still being used, and Photoshop was not used at all. The images she captured are still images I treasure. I look beautiful and pregnant, not fat, like I felt.  She did an amazing job!

When I am doing maternity sessions, I go back to that day in my head. Maybe I’m biased because I loved being pregnant, and working with pregnant moms makes me happy, but every pregnant mama I work with is beautiful! It is my job to capture that beauty, and the joy, of pregnant moms. You, my dear, are beautiful! You are a Bella Mama!

If you are due in March March or April, contact me now to book your February Bella Mama session. All February Maternity sessions will include an in-studio portrait creation session, a 5×5 mounted portrait of your favorite pose, and an easel for displaying the portrait. You will also get a free in-studio, newborn session and mounted 5×5. Newborn sessions must be tentatively booked at the same time as your maternity session. Newborn sessions are during the first 10 days after birth, which is why session dates are tentative. Please see FAQs. Your total investment for these February sessions is $300 plus tax. This is a $250 discount!

Not due in March?  Book your Maternity/Newborn session before the end of February and receive $100 off of the Maternity/Newborn session. ALL sessions must be booked and completed prior to April 30th, 2011.
